Simone Rede approaches the required number of matchable donations from everyday Portlanders

City auditor candidate and Northeast Portland resident Simone Rede has collected over 200 small donations since she announced her run for City Auditor on January 4, 2022.

Rede is collecting $5-$250 donations from people living in Portland to qualify for matching funds through the City’s Small Donor Elections program. “I chose to participate in the program because it reflects my values of public service and inclusion,” Rede said in a statement. “As City Auditor, I will be accountable to all Portlanders.” Participating candidates can get a 9-to-1 match on the first $20 they receive from Portlanders who are 18 years of age and U.S. citizens or permanent residents. They can accept money from people living outside of Portland, but only donations from people who are living in Portland qualify for matching.

Rede must raise at least 250 matchable donations to apply for matching funds by January 28, 2022. Donate to her campaign at simoneforauditor.com/donate.
